Aren't you tired from writing your Rust programs in English? Would you like to try something different, exotic and funny? Do you like saying "merde" a lot?

Here's my contribution to solve this problem: Rouille, a French Rust programming language.

Found some time to continue working on ./badges web v2.
In the current snapshot version, it is now possible to edit theme parameters! 🤩
Release coming soon, after some more cleanup and documentation.

Is it just my perception or have "you have to create an account to continue reading"-style nag screens become more widespread recently?

It's been a while since I last did some computer graphics programming. I think I'll have a look at Vulkan over the next couple of days.

A quiet sunday evening. Time to continue on ./badges web, to make it compatible with ./badges v2.

It would look somewhat like that:

Resolution: 1920x1080
FPS: 24
NTracks: 4

Source foo: foo.webm
Source bar: bar.webm
Source music: music.ogg
Source voiceover: voiceover.ogg (Channel 2)

00.00.00-00 T1 - FadeIn (Source foo, Duration 2s)
00.00.00-00 T2 - FadeIn (Source music, Duration 2s)
00.00.03-00 T3 - Play (Source voiceover, Volume 0.75)
...

I'm having this weird idea of creating a video editing software that's entirely centered around a text-based project format.
It might serve as a basis for more sophisticated GUI tools or even be a nerdy text-only solution, not unlike LaTeX for typesetting and presentations. 😉

And that's how it looks like now (I've also added some padding, because I felt the badges were too cramped):

Finally got that weird font metrics bug sorted out. 🥳 Turns out I was using the wrong font height to calculate where the font shall be centered to. Fix is shipping soon in ./badges v2.0.0. But first, I have to see if the library is working as expected with ./badges web.

With the CLI rewritten, the first release candidate of ./badges v2 is ready. Highlights include parameter declaration, stdin/stdout support and simpler CLI invocations. Still TODO: Fixing font metrics, writing a script to generate the generic badges (since batch rendering was dropped) and adapting ./badges web.
