The thread looks remarkably well preserved!
I'm not sure what I'm looking at here. I see a spindle whorl and something that looks like a spindle shaft. Is that a cop of spun thread that was found on a spindle? Or has the museum chosen, for whatever reason(s), to display it as if it were on a spindle?
@ninawillburger I boggle at the evenness of the thread. It looks machine made! Instead it was 5000 years ago and probably done on a drop spindle.
