Dear Fedi,

I'm trying to find the name of a song. The first line of the chorus is sung by a woman and goes

"I won't be coming back here [no/any] more"

It's slow, about 30-40 bpm and has a 70's melancholy maybe slightly country feel. It's acoustic with little backing.

It's not Dorothy Yates or The Singing Cookies, who come up online.

I'd be grateful for any ideas/boosts! Thanks!

🎶 Count me out like sovereigns, payback for the good times

Right foot in the roses, left foot on a landmine

I'm not gonna be there tripping on the grapevine

They can sing the words while I cry into the bassline

Wear me out like Prada, devil in my detail

I swear it's getting harder even just to exhale

Backed up into corners, bitter in the lens

I'm sick of trying to hide it every time thеy take mine 🎶

"Come Softly to Me" is a #popular #song recorded by #TheFleetwoods, composed of Gretchen Christopher, Barbara Ellis, and Gary Troxel, who also wrote it. The original title was "Come Softly", but was changed en route to its becoming a hit. Bob Reisdorf, the owner of Dolphin Records, which in 1960 changed to Dolton Records, was responsible for the title change. He thought that "Come Softly" might be too obvious and considered risqué.
