O=C=O<p>Künftig mehr Tote durch Hitze als durch Kälte in Europa</p><p>In ihrer Argumentation stützen sich die Studienautoren stark auf das Szenario „SSP3-7.0“ aus dem Sachstandsbericht des <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/Weltklimarat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Weltklimarat</span></a>'es (<a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/IPCC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IPCC</span></a>): Es geht davon aus, dass der <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/Treibhausgas" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Treibhausgas</span></a>-Ausstoß in einer von Konflikten und <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/Nationalismus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nationalismus</span></a> geprägten Welt weiter ansteigen wird, was zu einem Temperatur-Plus von in Richtung 4°C Ende des Jahrhunderts führt.</p><p>Trifft dies ein, und werden quasi keine Anpassungsmaßnahmen ergriffen – wie etwa <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/Gr%C3%BCnfl%C3%A4chen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Grünflächen</span></a> in Städten oder <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/Klimaanlagen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Klimaanlagen</span></a> -, hätte man in Südeuropa in den Jahren 2050 bis 2054 im Mittel ungefähr 36.000 kältebedingte Tote weniger zu beklagen. Dem gegenüber stünden rund 82.000 hitzebedingt frühzeitig Verstorbene.</p><p>Für <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/%C3%96sterreich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Österreich</span></a> käme in dieser Periode ein Hitzetoten-Überhang von fast 12.000 Personen heraus, wenn keine Gegenmaßnahmen ergriffen werden. Damit fallen die negativen Effekte in Österreich, ähnlich wie in der <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/Schweiz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Schweiz</span></a> oder im Süden <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/Deutschland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Deutschland</span></a>'s oder <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/Polen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Polen</span></a>'s deutlicher aus als in anderen Gegenden Mitteleuropas. In seinem Buch „Klimawandel als Klassenkampf“ (Climate Change as Class War) argumentiert der marxistische Geograph Matthew Huber, dass die <a href="https://todon.nl/tags/Klimabewegung" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Klimabewegung</span></a> deshalb verliert, weil sie aus der „professionellen Klasse“ stammt. Er führt aus, dass es dieser Klasse an der Macht mangelt, die mächtigen kapitalistischen Interessen zurückzudrängen, welche die nötigen drastischen Einschnitte in der Verbrennung fossiler Energieträger blockieren.
