Several years ago, author Matthew Sullivan joined Dogs in the Nighttime, a Sherlock Holmes-focused book club in Anacortes, Washington, that meets once a month. He writes for Crime Reads about happens when they meet up, why the different members participate, and the many joys and benefits of being a Dog. "Reading can be full of contradictions. It is typically a solitary act, ideal for the non-joiners among us. Yet through reading, we can also learn to empathize and grow closer to each other," he writes. We want to know: Are you in a book club? Tell us in the comments if you have a club with a very specific focus, or an interesting way of choosing what to read.
