Oh and when you close #Excel on your current desktop, it switches your desktop back to where the original instance is located.
Again, I don’t want to switch desktops. In most cases I have finished using Excel for my current task and am focusing on something related on my current desktop. Forcing me to switch desktops is an unwanted interruption to my workflow.
Do none of your engineers use the products they design, #Microsoft?

This is particularly frustrating when you’re back & forth between #Excel & #PowerBI, because the latter freaks out when you have a source workbook open and won’t update. So you have to close the workbook, refresh #PBI, and then reopen #Excel. AND IT OPENS IN ANOTHER GODDAMN DESKTOP.

It will never not bother me that in 2025 #Microsoft will STILL not open a new #Excel instance on your current desktop. It instead opens it on the desktop where other workbooks are already open.
I do not want to switch to another desktop. If I wanted to do that, I would have done it myself, thank you. I specifically want to work on THIS desktop. Now I have to drag your stupid window to a different desktop. EVERY. GD. TIME.
For a “productivity” tool, this is a highly inefficient behavior.

Ralf, ich freu mich auf dich, bis Donnerstag!
So langsam schließen sich die letzten Lücken in meiner Sammlung antiker Windows- und Office-Disketten. Excel 3.0a lief als letzte Excel-Fassung noch original unter Windows 3.0 und war außerdem das erste mit einer grafischen Symbolleiste! Dieses unglaubliche Feature wurde damals auch noch groß auf der Verpackung beworben!
Hier ein perfektes Set der deutschen Vollversion mit 1.2MB, 5.25 Zoll KryoFlux Images. Natürlich wieder inkl. aller IMGs und sauberer JPG-Scans sämtlicher Datenträger:

Hallo #excel|Menschen, was ist das denn? Die Kollegin weiß natürlich nicht was sie getan hat, war damit dann aber komplett lahmgelegt und konnte nichts mehr tun. Mit einmal per win + D minimieren war dann wenigstens wieder der Cursor "frei" und sie konnte speichern.
Beim Speichern hat's dann was von Zirkelbezug gesagt. (Ich war nur am Telefon, habe nichts davon gesehen)
Hatte gestern einen eigentlich ziemlich hässlichen 720K Diskettensatz in der Post. Den Dingern sah man ihre 35 Jahre doch schon ziemlich an, aber die Optik war in dem Fall nebensächlich, denn das Auslesen per KryoFlux war dann eine wirklich positive Überraschung. Alle Datenträger waren absolut perfekt lesbar!
Es handelt sich um die deutsche Vollversion von Microsoft Excel 2.1d. Diese Fassung von Excel wurde noch rein über MS-DOS installiert und lief auf Windows ab Version 2.x. Ziemlich historisch. Hier gibt es die kompletten Flux- und IMG-Images, sowie 300dpi Scans aller Disketten:
