Hello book friends. What do you do with actively harmful books? Ones which are full of all the worst and most harmful conspiracy theories?
Going through dad's thousands of books I found one that is the paper equivalent of boomer facebook. I don't think he ever read it, and from the cover you'd expect it to be standard leftie anti-corporatism fare, which is why I opened it in the first place.
Tossing it in the bin or using it as kindling makes sense, but destroying books feels... uncomfortable.
@pjf "actively harmful ... *books*"?? Is this book struggling to lunge at you swinging an axe? In what way do you imagine a book possibly being "actively harmful"? What prevents any reader from being provided useful context before, during, or after reading it?
Are there actively harmful statues which demand tearing down? Actively harmful paintings which require destruction? Your world may be markedly more dramatic and exciting than my own perhaps dull landscape...
