Ned Hairston :hehim: :theythem:<p>I'm working on an original translation of the Bible. My goal is to let the words of scripture guide my translation rather than reading a favored theology into the text. As the saying goes, "Where the Bible speaks, we speak, where it is silent, we are silent." In addition to being a formal equivalence, I try to preserve original idioms (with clarification in the footnotes), poetic and metaphorical language, and distinct synonyms (ie. land/ground/dust) where possible.</p><p>The text is available under a Creative Commons license. And it is available at a website, and as an ebook, though it is still incomplete.</p><p>Please support my translation work:<br>☕ <a href="https://ko-fi.com/wltbible" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">ko-fi.com/wltbible</span><span class="invisible"></span></a><br>📖 <a href="https://wlt.ct.ws" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">wlt.ct.ws</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Bible" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bible</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Tanakh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tanakh</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Torah" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Torah</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Religion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Religion</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Christianity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Christianity</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Christian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Christian</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Church" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Church</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/ChurchOfChrist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ChurchOfChrist</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Judaism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Judaism</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Jewish" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jewish</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/MessianicJudaism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MessianicJudaism</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBTQIA2S" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBTQIA2S</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBTQIA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBTQIA</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBTQ" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBTQ</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBT</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Transgender" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Transgender</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Nonbinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nonbinary</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Agender" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Agender</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/CreativeCommons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CreativeCommons</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/CCBY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CCBY</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/FOSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FOSS</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Translation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Translation</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Language" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Language</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Literature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Literature</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Books</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/English" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>English</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Hebrew" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hebrew</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Aramaic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Aramaic</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Greek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Greek</span></a></p>

This means generations sitting together and exploring the narrative, telling what happened to our ancestors and connecting to the freedom as <a href="https://babka.social/tags/Hashem" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hashem</span></a> took us out of <a href="https://babka.social/tags/Egypt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Egypt</span></a> with miracles.</p><p>It’s the themes of faith, nationhood, gratitude and mission. And the <a href="https://babka.social/tags/rabbis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rabbis</span></a> enshrined this in fifteen Seder night steps and the <a href="https://babka.social/tags/Haggadah" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Haggadah</span></a> text – albeit currently one that not all of us understand. Yet to recite the Haggadah without knowing what it says is to forgo the educational opportunity that is Seder night! Especially since some of the stages in Seder night are aimed at piquing children’s interest – some of the steps or the encouragement of questions."</p><p><a href="https://www.thejc.com/judaism/how-to-make-your-seder-more-child-friendly-y1219a6j" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">thejc.com/judaism/how-to-make-</span><span class="invisible">your-seder-more-child-friendly-y1219a6j</span></a></p>

It may very well be the first translation by a trans translator (is that a pun? no regrets). </p><p>But more importantly, it is a translation that does not seek to impose a theology on the Bible, but read it with an open heart and open mind to what the scripture really means when we listen to the Spirit of Truth instead of letting publishers write over the Word out of a profit motive (Jeremiah 8:8).</p><p>I long ago came to realize that I do not stand condemned before God because of a close reading of the scripture. Now I want to share that experience with as many as I can, as many as need to hear that God loves you. It's in God's Word of Life. I'll help you find it.</p><p>:blobcoffeeraccoon: <a href="https://ko-fi.com/wltbible" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">ko-fi.com/wltbible</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Bible" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bible</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Scripture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Scripture</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Translation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Translation</span></a><br><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Christian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Christian</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Christianity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Christianity</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Church" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Church</span></a><br><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/ProgressiveChristianity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ProgressiveChristianity</span></a><br><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Judaism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Judaism</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Jewish" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jewish</span></a><br><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Tanakh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tanakh</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Tanach" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tanach</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Torah" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Torah</span></a><br><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBTQIA2S" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBTQIA2S</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBTQIA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBTQIA</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBTQ" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBTQ</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBT</span></a><br><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Transgender" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Transgender</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Agender" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Agender</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Nonbinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nonbinary</span></a> <br><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Furry" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Furry</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/FurryArt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FurryArt</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/FurryFandom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FurryFandom</span></a><br><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/TTRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TTRPG</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/DnD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DnD</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/DnD5e" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DnD5e</span></a></p>
