We stay strong against hate and hatred, and in response to the recent abuse campaign on our platform, we have renewed our commitment to fight for a better world. We apologize to everyone who was greeted with an abusive message this morning.

Thanks to all your kind words of support, this is much appreciated.

@Codeberg This makes me wonder about the political alignment of Codeberg. The announcement contains six mentions of far or extreme right, which I suppose is uncontroversial, but it also contains two derogatory statements about right in general, without prefixing it with 'far' or 'extreme'.

Are non-extreme right-leaning contributors welcome, or do I have to move my projects somewhere else if I want to be welcoming to contributors with a diversity of political views?

@squirrel @Codeberg
Exactly, like this one:

> If you ever considered supporting the fight against right-wing forces, for example by joining political movements and parties, organizing protests or getting involved in online communities with this goal - now might be the best time to move ahead.

I'm left-leaning, but this gets me worried too because I'm often misidentified by the religious left (aka woke) as right-wing

@quasi @Codeberg That's precisely how I feel. It's hard to follow through on Codeberg's suggestion and join a left-wing political movement when members of such movements hate me and misidentify me as a right-crypto-billionaire supporter for basing my left-wing ideas on facts that are open to scrutiny. All these haters could have clicked my name and seen that I post mainly anticapitalist anti-billionaire ideas supporting equality, but instead they decide to hate me and block me.

@squirrel
We never suggested to join a left-wing political movement. Although we much appreciate if you do so, you are also free to choose movements from the center or even conservative forces if they stand up against hate and discrimination.

And you are of course also free not to join any political movement at all if you don't want to.

And you are free to join right-wing political movements, but you might not be welcome here if these promote hate and discrimination.

Simple as that.
@quasi

@Codeberg What you say kind of sounds nice, but you're still insisting on never mentioning right-wing politics without unnecessarily bringing up hate and discrimination in the same sentence. Can't we consider all discrimination and hate to be a bad thing regardless of whether it's left, right or non-political? The left-wing Soviet union hated homosexuals. Leftists here hate me (and I'm promoting a liberal left-wing opinion myself).
