A #Roman helmet found in Theilenhofen at the Upper German-Raetian Limes. It's not a parade helmet as often stated, but a pseudo-Attic cavalry battle helmet ot the Worthing/Theilenhofen variant.
Dating to the second half of the 2nd century AD.
On display Germanisches Nationalmuseum Nürnberg

Has to be an officer’s helmet, though, surely? No grunt (rank and file legionary) would have anything so ornate!
I love the leaping lion.
