The castellum of Schlögen lies on the Danube Limes at Haibach ob der Donau in modern Austria. It way have been the ancient Ioviacum. It was in use from the first to fifth century AD. It was a stop for the classis Histriae, the Danube fleet. #RomanFortThursday

London once had a Roman fort and its remains can be seen underground in a car park. It was built around AD 110 and the rebuilt fort could house 5,000 soldiers in 5 hectares. It is similar to the forts at the Hadrian's Wall, built at the same time. #RomanFortThursday
