Birders, can you help me identify this one? This lovely visitor perched right outside my window here in Brooklyn and I could only get these few iPhone shots. Black body, yellow beak, long fanned tail. Can ruffle itself up (2nd photo) and had a screechy call. I’m a newbie at bird ID - I can tell a cardinal from a blue jay, but a lot of the nuances of these kinds of black birds still escape me.

Our building isn’t tall enough to be attractive to any peregrines or sparrowhawks looking for a home in downtown #Toronto, but as a harbinger of spring, this slightly damp robin in vocal search of a date will do nicely. #UrbanWildlife
In a groundbreaking move, humans have finally realized that animals might not enjoy playing Frogger across twelve-lane highways . But don't worry, bureaucracy will ensure that this "wildlife crossing" remains a concrete jungle gym for another decade.

And an animation (as an MP4, since apparently, aGIF over 1500px wide is not supported). (3/3)
I still have some more shots, but also have to pick some favorites. Still quite happy about this chance encounter.
I got really lucky today, and can definitely confirm there is not just one, but two foxes in my neighborhood. Was not expecting that, they are not skittish at all.
Anyway, some fun images here. And I have been told to think of names. Not sure yet. The front one is a vixen, and I think the one in the back is a dog fox.
More to come (1/3).

Canada geese rightly have a reputation for aggression. That being said, they like me and I've never been attacked by one. I grew up playing with domesticated geese. They followed me around in a honking parade. I think it rubbed off, and Canada geese see me as a friend. #CanadaGoose #CobraChicken #UrbanWildlife #wildlife #birds
"Insight into the minds and lives of the #animals that have learned how to live around us could help us learn to be better neighbors to them.
"And accepting peaceful #coexistence as a shared responsibility might even help us be better neighbors to other people as well."
Driving home from the petrol station last night, I saw a juvenile #rat run past on a grass bank between the exit road and some automatic car wash. I saluted the rodent (which has far less impact on the #environment than I do in my motor car)
