An Attic (Greece) Geometric bowl with a leg-shaped handle, dating around 850 BC.
The Geometric period lasted from ca. 900 to 700 BC. It's named after geometric patterns and motifs used to decorate pottery vessels.

Any theories on why they added a leg-shaped handle to a bowl?
@wendy @ninawillburger 1) that's a bowl owned by a runner who won the Olympic games
2) that's sold by a potter living in his city
3) the potter had a leg fetish
4) the bowl was for an apothecary who sold salves for legs (among other things)
5) the potters had a contest
6) someone just wanted a cool bowl
7) just wait for the other bowls with every limb and body part!
@ninawillburger What is the word for Kitsch in ancient Greek?
