Current situation on Vancouver Island: the salal is wearing its spring colours, the sun is shining, and birds are singing their little hearts out.

Many trees in a forest in early morning sunlight. We mainly see the trunks, not the branches, because the trees are very tall. At the bottom of the photo, there is a large patch of salal in light green foliage.

A Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) along the shores of the Capilano River in North Vancouver, British Columbia. I made this photo quite a long time ago and was experimenting with shutter speeds. The slows shutter speed won in that contest. Herons are one of the few birds that would have been still long enough for me to pull this off!

I’m in #infosec. I currently live in #NovaScotia but moving to #BritishColumbia this summer.

I have many dogs. They’re all small, one so small she only has three legs. She was injured before we got her out of the Texas rescue system. I learned these doggos are called #tripawds which I think is very clever.

My main “hobby” is #motorcycling. I currently have a Vulcan Nomad 1700.

I have worked remotely from my house for almost a decade. The life balance can’t be beat.

For #WaterfallWednesday I have this photo taken last week when I was mentoring the 16 year old student from Surrey. This creek is completely dry in the summer. The best time to photograph it is now. It is located in a place known as Xwee Xwhya Luq by the K'ómoks people, in what is called today Courtenay.

A creek running down rounded rocks. Some of them are covered with green moss. The long exposure creates a nice effect as it softens the water.

Western Skunk Cabbage (Lysichiton americanus), emerging from a small stream. A brown salamander pokes its head out of the leaf litter. Its head is flat, its mouth is wide, and the rest of its body is underneath dead brown leaves. It is very cute.

The McPherson Playhouse theatre in Victoria, BC has supposedly received visits from the "Grey Lady" over the last 75 years. This female ghost wears a long, blue-grey dress and wanders the theatre's balcony; sometimes she floats above the actors. No one knows her true identity.
